International Unicorn Day 2025 Conference: TAU University Alumni Rank 7th in the World for Global Entrepreneurship
The Tel Aviv University Alumni Organization, in collaboration with the Coller School of Management, celebrates International Unicorn Day with a special event
Every year, Tel Aviv University celebrates International Unicorn Day, starting on April 9th, with a special event that brings together the university’s alumni community with leading figures in the Israeli high-tech ecosystem, including experienced investors, CEOs, and industry executives who are also Tel Aviv University alumni.
Among the event participants are Prof. Moshe Zviran, Chief Entrepreneurship and Innovation Officer at Tel Aviv University, Nimrod Vax, Co-Founder and Head of Product at BigID, Karin Meyer Rubinstein, VEO and President of IATI (Israel Advanced Technology Industries), Gadi Mazor, CEO of BioCatch, Tami Bronner, a General Partner at Vertex Ventures Israel, and Dana Eli-Lorch, a General Partner and Co-Founder of Vesey Ventures.
During the event, Prof. Moshe Zviran revealed that Tel Aviv University ranks 7th in the world in entrepreneurship for the number of graduates who are unicorn founders and capital raisers, after leading universities, such as Stanford, Berkeley, Harvard, Massachusetts and Cornell, and the university’s goal now is to rise to sixth place in the table!
A study conducted at Stanford University determined that TAU ranks first outside the USA in the grown of unicorns, private startups worth more than a billion dollars, founded by university alumni.
To mark International Unicorn Day, a special panel was held this year, featuring leading Tel Aviv University alumni in the Israeli high-tech ecosystem who shared practical insights with the audience on adapting a product to the market, global growth, and cultivating a culture of innovation. The audience heard firsthand the stories of unicorn founders, about their initial struggles, the challenges along the way, and the journey to large capital raisings.
