Israel Image in the World - The Challenge of the Fight Against Rising Antisemitism

Tel Aviv University Alumni Organization, led by Sigalit Ben Hayoun, held a webinar with alumnus Nimrod Palmach on the topic of Israel image in the world and the challenge of combating rising antisemitism.

• Nimrod Palmach - CEO of the non-profit ISRAEL-is, an alumnus of both the Humanities and Social Sciences faculties, and the School of Education as well, at Tel Aviv University.

The webinar was conducted by Nimrod at the base where he was called for reserve duty. Nimrod shared his personal experiences from his time at the university and serving in the reserve forces. He spoke on how he realized the importance of working on Israel image in the world in the face of the rising antisemitism, which led him to be a part of ISRAEL-is. He also shared about the various Hasbara (Hebrew: הַסְבָּרָה; which has no direct English translation but roughly means "explaining") activities he took part in, and made sure to answer the many questions from the audience.

In Nimrod's words:

"The State of Israel and the Jewish people face a great challenge on many fronts. I do not doubt that we are up to it, but only if we stay united. The challenge to Israel image in the world is not the challange of only those in government. It is the challenge of each and every one of us - and if we act together, we will be able to significantly reduce the damage to Israel image and even legitimize a comprehensive action to eradicate terrorist regimes within our borders."
