A Seminar for Tel Aviv University Researchers on Fundraising
The Tel Aviv University Alumni Organization and the Tel Aviv University NextGen Leadership Global Community held a study day for Tel Aviv University researchers on the topic of fundraising.
The event took place at the University Theater in preparation for the upcoming Tel Aviv University Board of Governors events, which will be held next month.
During these events, a delegation from the university’s Global Young Leadership Community (May 18–22) will meet with researchers in their laboratories.
Speakers at the study day included:
Prof. Dan Peer – Vice President for Research and Development, and a three-time alumnus (BSc, MSc, PhD) of the Faculty of Life Sciences at Tel Aviv University. He spoke about the importance of providing researchers with the right tools to help them present their work to donors from around the world.
Amos Elad – Vice President for Public Affairs, Resource Development, and Alumni Relations, who reviewed the activities of TAU’s Public Affairs division and highlighted various challenges.
This was followed by a professional workshop led by Lior Shoham, owner of a boutique consulting firm specializing in interpersonal communication and public speaking.
The tailored workshop focused on developing essential tools and storytelling and marketing skills for this unique audience, along with hands-on practice in which the researchers actively participated.
The final speaker was Tomer Blushtein – a member of the Advisory Board of the Tel Aviv University Alumni Organization and part of the Core Team of Tel Aviv University’s Global Leadership Community. He is a second-generation donor and an alumnus of the TAU Faculty of Life Sciences.
Tomer Blushtein shared his personal story, offered his perspective as a young donor, and answered many questions from the participants.
