Tel Aviv University continues to strengthen its international standing, ranking 208th globally in the QS World University Rankings 2026 among approximately 1,500 higher education institutions worldwide. The ranking places TAU at the top among Israeli universities and reflects a significant improvement from last year's position of 223rd. Published annually by the UK-based higher education analytics company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the QS World University Rankings are considered one of the world's most influential university rankings, alongside the Shanghai Ranking and the Times Higher Education Rankings. The methodology evaluates institutions based on academic reputation, research impact, citations, employer reputation, graduate employability, and international engagement.

 


The latest results continue a positive upward trend for the university and highlight the quality of its research, teaching, innovation, and global academic impact. The achievement reflects the work and contributions of TAU's faculty members, researchers, students, and alumni community.

 

In addition to its overall ranking, Tel Aviv University achieved notable results in several key indicators. The university ranked 29th worldwide in Citations per Faculty, demonstrating the significant influence and recognition of its research output within the global academic community.

 

TAU also ranked 82nd worldwide in Employment Outcomes, reflecting the success of its alumni and the university's role in preparing future leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers, and professionals across a wide range of fields.

 

The QS World University Rankings are considered one of the three most influential global university rankings, alongside the Shanghai Ranking and the Times Higher Education Rankings. The methodology combines quantitative performance indicators, international academic reputation surveys, and employer assessments.

 

This latest achievement joins a growing list of international recognitions earned by Tel Aviv University and underscores its ongoing commitment to academic excellence, groundbreaking research, innovation, and global impact.
