The Tel Aviv University Theater, consisting of fourth-year students in the Department of Theatre Arts, is staging the play “Suitcase Packers” to mark the 25th anniversary of the passing of Hanoch Levin for a limited time.
This is one of Hanoch Levin’s famous plays. It is a comedy with eight funerals and about 30 characters searching for themselves in their abandoned country. They pack suitcases and unpack them, wait for the bus but don’t get on it, and decide to leave their parents’ house—and return to it the next day. The play takes on new meaning in our reality since the War of Iron Swords outbreak.
