The Wave of Antisemitism Worldwide - Webinar 05.05.24
With the publication of the international antisemitism situation, the Tel Aviv Alumni Organization hosts Professor Uriya Shavit for a lecture about the wave of antisemitism worldwide - Why does it Happen and How to Stop It?
The event started with Prof. Uriya Shavit mentioning the Antisemitism Worldwide Report for 2023 by the Center for the Study of Contemporary European Jewry and the Irwin Coller Institute, talking about the talkbacks heard and the questions that follow up:
“2023 hits record regarding antisemitic incidents, an increase in all countries in the world of tens of percent in the number of incidents this year, compared to 2022. It isn’t shocking because everyone who’s seen TV or read newspapers knows that since October 7th, since the terrorist attack by Hamas, since the beginning of war in Gaza, there is an increase in antisemitism in the world”.
Prof. Uriya Shavit is a professor at the Tel Aviv University, and an Alum of the Lester and Sally Entin Faculty of Humanities, at Tel Aviv University.
