The Tel Aviv Alumni Organization, headed by Sigalit Ben Hayoun, held another meeting, this time at Palo Alto Networks, as part of the “When Academia Meets Industry” project, in which senior industry alumni from the university host young alumni and present to them the employment options available to them after completing their studies.

At this meeting, Nir Zuk, the Founder of Palo Alto Networks, who studied math at the Faculty of Exact Sciences at Tel Aviv University, hosted about 30 university graduates at the company’s offices in Tel Aviv.

The participants, alumni of various faculties, heard from Nir Zuk about the company’s vision, challenges, activities, organizational culture, and the future of the cyber world, and asked many questions, which he answered with great interest.

After the face-to-face meeting with Nir Zuk, a short lecture on storytelling was given by Palo Alto Networks Director Product Line Manager Daphna Shemesh, an alumna of the Faculty of Humanities at Tel Aviv University, who emphasized the need to recruit candidates from multidisciplinary disciplines who can present a topic clearly and approach it with a critical way of thinking.

The Technical Recruiter Meital Shriki, an alumna of the university’s Faculty of Social Sciences, spoke about employment opportunities at the company, and participants were allowed to submit resumes for positions at the company through direct channels.

Sigalit Ben Hayoun, Head of the Tel Aviv University Alumni Organization: “The Tel Aviv University Alumni Organization has over 200,000 members, and its active community includes approximately 100,000 active alumni. Many of the university’s alumni are currently holding key positions in the Israeli economy and maintain a warm relationship with the academic institution that trained them at the beginning of their careers. Within this framework, we created the “When Academia Meets Industry” project. We thank Nir Zuk for his willingness to hold this meeting at his place and hear his vision, and we are excited about the next meetings”.
